Benefits Included

Psalms 103:1-5 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; who pardons all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases; who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Forgiveness

  • We need our iniquities pardoned because we have all done wrong
  • You value grace when you realize how much you need it
  • Grace and forgiveness are not permitted to keep doing wrong
  • Our relationship with God is entirely built on His grace and forgiveness

Healing

  • Forgiveness and healing are often combined in scripture
  • God promises healing throughout His word
  • We have to hold onto God’s promise no matter what happens
  • Live the fullness of the days He has ordained for you

Redemption

  • Redemption is at the heart of God: the action of saving or being saved from sin and the action of regaining or gaining possession of something in exchange for payment
  • We have been redeemed from death to life: from darkness to light
  • God will help you out of those places that you cannot help yourself out of

Identity

  • In Jesus you are crowned and given an identity; you don’t earn it
  • How you see yourself impacts every part of your life
  • Your sense of identity is powerful and important
  • God’s word gives us a sense of identity: who God says we are
  • Find your identity in who God says you are

Satisfaction

  • God is a good God who wants to do good things in your life
  • Some might even question if God wants you to be satisfied
  • Practicing gratitude is taking the time to pay attention to the good things happening in your life

Renewal

  • We can all get stuck and lose our fire about things that really matter
  • God promises to help with renewal; Psalm 51:10, Psalm 51:12, Isaiah 40:31
  • Renew your framing on change; embrace the end of a chapter as a fulfillment and realize it’s not the end of the story
  • Renew your awareness of God’s goodness and nearness
  • Renew your mental model: repenting to change your model to embrace today’s kingdom at hand
