They had $500 – just enough to rent a space, purchase a small sound system, and put an ad in the paper. It all began in a Days Inn with 27 people in the first service.
In 1990, with sixty people, we made the move to an office park on Tunnel Road. We stayed there for six months and through one expansion. In this time, we began overflowing with 180 people.
We moved to South Asheville in 1991. Turtle Creek Shopping Center was our home for seven years and through six expansions. When our church reached 400 people, we knew it was time to buy land and build a house of our own!
God led us to a piece of land on Monte Vista Road, just outside of West Asheville. We held our first service in this location in the fall of 1997! Attendance doubled almost immediately, and it was only a year and a half later that we needed to expand by building the Annex – housing Kids, Students, Celebrate Recovery, and Rock Group ministries.
Through ups and downs, moves and expansions, our church has continued to grow and minister to people for over 30 years! We hope you will join our story!
