Developing an Abundance Mentality | Sunday, July 10, 2022
John 10:10
The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy; I came that they might have life, and might have it abundantly.”
_1. Abundance is a mentality
- A mentality of abundance will impact every arena of your life; it frees you up to be a blessing to others
- God is the God of more than enough – El Shaddai
- Ephesians 3:20 “Now to Him who is able to do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us.”
- His ability is beyond all that we could ask or think
- The release of his ability is shaped by our thinking and our asking
- We need God-sized thinkers. How big do you think? How big is your ask?
- We have to continue to enlarge our capacity within us; it’s according to the power at work within us. God is infinite abundance; opportunities are abundant
- We are contained or enlarged by our own capacity emotionally, mentally, spiritually, financially
- The capacity to be disappointed and keep going, to be hurt and keep loving, to be betrayed and keep loving, to not understand but still keep trusting
- Regularly expand your borders to facilitate abundance
- Scarcity assumes there is no answer before it looks for an answer
- Abundant people live above petty issues
Abundance is looking for an opportunity to enter your life
2. God is a God of abundance
- Abundance is in God’s nature, in His name
- God introduces Himself to Abraham as El-Shaddai “God almighty,” the God who is more than enough
- The El who is all-sufficient and all bountiful, the source of all blessing and fullness and fruitfulness
- The abundance of the kingdom of God is birthday out of the God of this kingdom
- We will express God and walk with Him as we see Him
- God is magnificent, abundant, generous, purposeful
3. The God of abundance establishes a covenant of abundance
- Genesis 17:1-2; there is a covenant of increase and abundance
- Increase and abundance are in the covenant we have with God: it’s a promise
- God says I will establish My Covenant with you
- God is more than enough when we walk in covenant with Him
- Genesis 35:11; I am El Shaddai, You will be fruitful and multiply, increase
When you discover who He is, you discover who you are
Facilitating Discussion
- How is your current thinking affecting your access to God’s abundant life He intended for you?
- How can you lean into God’s covenant and trust Him with your life, provision and identity?
