Giving Birth to a Dream

These actions and attitudes sync us with heaven:

Pray | Rejoice | Give thanks

1 Thessalonians 5:16 Rejoice always;

1 Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing;

1 Thessalonians 5:18 in everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Our world – your world needs a dose of heaven.

Habakkuk 2:1 I will stand on my guard post

And station myself on the rampart;

And I will keep watch to see what He will speak to me,

And how I may reply when I am reproved.

Habakkuk 2:2 Then the LORD answered me and said,

“Record the vision

And inscribe it on tablets,

That the one who reads it may run.

Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time;

It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.

Though it tarries, wait for it;

For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

We need to hear from God, make plans, set goals, and write it down.

  1. Act on your plan

Habakkuk 2:2 Then the Lord answered me and said, “Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, That the one who reads it may run.

Take action. Take just one step.

A vision is easy to admire… but visions are not made to admire. They are for living out. Run with your vision!

Pray like it depends on God – it does! Work like it depends on you – it does!

There is a nuance to this…  prayer is work. Prayer is moving things in the heavenlies. It’s always a Divine partnership… always.

Get spiritual: live out of your spirit.

Get smart: use your brain!

Action = Obedience. Act on the light you now have. Do what you know to be God’s will now.

Do what you can with what you have. Stop waiting until you know more, or have more, or have more support. All of that will come as you move down the road of action. The person of action holds a decided advantage over the person of theory.

Remember: constructive criticism comes best from those who have actually constructed something. Usually, those in the battle aren’t actually very critical.

Let me see what you’ve built before I think about heeding your advice.

“If you’re not in the arena also getting your rear end kicked, I’m not interested in your feedback. If you have constructive feedback you want to give me, I want it… But if you’re in the cheap seats, not putting yourself on the line, and just talking about how I can do it better, I’m in no way interested in your feedback.”

Action overcomes procrastination. Procrastination is putting off till tomorrow what you’ve already put off till today. Piled up procrastinations will start to suffocate you. You’ll begin to feel overwhelmed.

Start the job or the project. It won’t take as long as you think.

  1. Stay in Sync with the Lord’s timing

Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

It always takes longer and cost more than you first thought

Life has a process. Life is born. Life has to be birthed.

Conception >> Pregnancy >> Birth >> Process of growth

1 John 5:4 For whatever is   born of God  overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world — our faith.

John 3:6  That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

Anything manufactured by the flesh, has to be maintained by the flesh.

Anything born of God overcomes, because the life of God is in it.

The flesh wants to run ahead and usually creates Ishmaels. Submit to the Lordship of Jesus in the time table of your vision.

Get pregnant with a vision, a dream. Carry it in your spirit and pray over it.

Suzette & I had a vision for this church growing in us for several years. We could have just launched out on our own… but then it would have been our thing to manufacture, our thing to maintain.

We carried it, sought after God, submitted to spiritual authority over us. And we finally launched, we finally birthed it. Then we had to tend to the baby.

But through all the obstacles and hiccups, there was life in that baby.

I remember looking at Judah’s little body in the NICU. The will to live was in that little body. He just needed someone to look after him for a little bit.

Carry it in your spirit for a season. Stay in sync with what God is doing in this season, for you.

  1. Carry a Spirit of Faith

Habakkuk 2:3 “For the vision is yet for the appointed time; It hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

Get these attitudes in your spirit:

– It will not fail

– It will certainly come

– It will not delay

Have the spirit of faith! The spirit of faith is an inner sense of authority.

God is true to His Word.

God is true to His promise.

God is true to the vision.

Own the vision as an already decided issue in the heart of God… It’s inevitable, irresistible. You can know and trust in your knower.

We are carrying the atmosphere of the future into today. This sense of confidence grows best through consistent times of prayer – with God

This is the politics of hope. Hope envisages it’s future and then acts as if that future is now irresistible, this helping to create the reality for which it longs. The future is not closed. There are fields of forces whose interactions are somewhat predictable. But how they will interact is not. Even a small number of people, firmly committed to the new inevitability on which they have fixed their imaginations, can decisively affect the shape the future takes. These shapers of the future are the intercessors, who call out of the future the longed-for new present. – Walter Wink

Determine to be a finisher and not a quitter. Your victory may be just around the corner! Carry a sense of certainty in a life committed to obedience to God.

Ultimately, I’m not walking out my deal but His deal for me. If it was just my vision, then it would all be up to me.

But, by walking out His vision:

  • I relay on His wisdom
  • His favor
  • His resources
  • His power
  • His authority

Your greatest future will require a partnership between you and God.

God needs you to work through and you need God because it’s beyond you.
